Use the Throw Away Special if:
The customer already has some decent knives
The customer doesn’t seem motivated by the Buy Now Bonus
The customer feels they can’t afford a set
Intro: “Mrs. ____, if I could get you a crazy, ridiculous, amazing, magical deal today, would you at least consider it?” (99% of the time they will say, “what’s the deal?”)
Explanation: “We have a special program for our customers called the Throw Away Special. What I can do is if you decide to get it today, I can get you a sweet discount instead of giving you the free stuff! All you have to do is throw away one of your least favorite (non-CUTCO) knives.”
